Frei was livid. TV commentator Gruenebaum, a KC
native and former KC player, even took Frei's side.

It was a joke. I had the Seattle broadcast (obviously) so didn't hear that, but good of him to say it like it really was.

Anybody else over the fetish for Kyle Beckerman by pundits? For all the subtle good he does (think Chris Rock's rant about that's what you're supposed to do) he throws in a bad give away, foul in a dangerous spot, or is out of position (see Netherlands 3rd goal) that undermines his value doing the things he's supposed to do. I'd just assume we retire him on a high note. That game yesterday was a blast.

Wonder if Juventus would have won today if they had Giovinco...I'm guessing he's going to be the most rostered player in mfls soon if he isn't already.

They said in the broadcast that Gio was pretty
upset that Juve lost.

The only way Juventus would have beat Barca today is if it was American Football and Juventus had me at QB (legendary HS QB in my day) ...

It was Mark Wheeler's birthday yesterday and his
family gave him a Pirlo jersey. I wonder if he
wishes now it had been a Messi jersey?

Messi doesn't look like a great athlete. Is he all
that fast, quick, or strong?

He's got decent straight line and lateral speed, and excellent strength at a low center of gravity. He's the Barry Sanders of Soccer. Either that or, Barry Sanders was the Leonel Messi of the NFL.

Messi is obviously better but if I had the option I'd pick the Pirlo jersey, so Mark won.
