Not many Gringos can hit those dipping free kicks. |

Good east coast-west coast games today. Gotta love this
league, keeps this sport going year-round when the other
leagues are on break. How many sports have competitive
matches year round? Not many. Between MLS, EPL and
Bundesliga (favorite leagues in that order) it's all good, also
Bundesliga is coming back on the air next season (I think
maybe fox or NBC) which is cool news for a Bremen fan. |

I'm assuming you're a Bremen fan too Fred, during WC 2006
had a chance to go to Bremen and it's a great city. Went to the
stadium and saw the trophy collection but hoping to go back
and see a game there some day. The Klose/Klasnic days were
the best years in recent times for Bremen, but they had a
scare this year with relegation concerns. Luckily they got on
track and wound up mid table. |

Would have been cool to see Altidore join Bremen which came
close to happening but Di Santo and Selke were able to get
enough goals for them. |

I was thinking today that if Seattle played in the Eastern Conference we'd likely already be only 5-6 wins away from clinching the Supporters Shield.

Strangely I'm not a big Bremen fan. When I joined
mfls I put the top 10 rated soccer clubs through
Word Spellcheck and I thought Weirder Bremen was
funny. It was between that and Lazier. My great-
great grandfather was from near Bremen (Steinhorst)
so I went with that. |

I'm thinking a little of driving up to Winnipeg next
week to watch the women's world cup. Not too far for
me. Not too costly. USA, Sweden, Australia, and
Nigeria group are playing. |

That's weird that you're not a Bremen fan (sorry, had to make
the joke). I think you chose right, Lazier is ok but Weirder
Bremen is much better. |

One of my coworkers is driving there too to watch the women's
WC too, his daughter plays and he promised to take her to see
a few games. U.S. should do well but hopefully Morgan will be
playing since they didn't look too good in their latest match vs
South Korea without her in the lineup. |

One of my co-workers is traveling from Tampa to
Vancouver for the final. She played for UNC and
has friends on the team.
Talk about a road trip! Of course she's flying,
but still. |

Sounds cool, good idea to fly there also since that would be a
major road trip from Tampa to Vancouver. Longest road trip for
me was NJ to FLA about 15 years ago and it seemed like an
eternity. Drank way too many cans of Mountain Dew but kept
awake. After that trip I decided from then on to meet my
parents at the Ft Lauderdale airport since they used to live
fairly close to there. Flying from Newark to Ft Lauderdale was
a much better choice. |

Doesn't top my brother though, he moved to Corvallis, Oregon
with some of his college roommates after graduating from
Rutgers. New Brunswick, NJ to Covallis, OR that is insane and
he said their car barely made it there. |

I spent a week each summer in high school (4 years in a row) at football camp in Corvallis. Stayed in the dorms which seemed like they were decades old and the beds were not made for 6'3" QB's, that's for sure - always fun when your legs are hanging off the end of the bed . . .
Dorms aside, nice campus, and really nice city. |
