Could we be staring at a repeat of the Women’s World Cup Final? After fifteen minutes the US had a commanding 4-0 lead and never looked back. After four holes, Mohawks is already eight strokes under par and has a five stoke lead. Mohawks added another double-eagle on the long par three. (Don’t question it, just go with it.) It was his second double eagle and fourth score under par in four holes. FC Byrd Turgler chipped in from short distance to birdie the hole, and sits in second place, five strokes back. El fútbol es así slipped from second place into third with a bogey.

Redneck SC landed the hole’s only eagle to get back to even score for the round.

Three teams are tied at the cut line with a score of five over par. cYber warriors and Damn Dirty Apes both dropped another stroke on four. Plattsburgh United had all sorts of problems on the fourth hole. It started when he mistook a nine iron for a six, and sent his tee shot soaring over the hole onto the seventh green. When all was said and done, Plattsburgh was staring at a triple bogey and a share of the bottom of the table.

I will not post any updates for holes five and six, as I will be out of the country, across the pond.

Todd, you need to find yourself a pickup soccer game
like Rory McIlroy did.

Mohawks still leads the field after seven holes at nine under par, but the gap has narrowed to only three strokes. FC Byrd Turgler sits at six strokes under par and has the leader in sight.

Top Shelf fired a hole-in-one on the short par four to post a double-eagle and move below par for the front nine for the first time. SDFC Macross posted an eagle on seven and moved into third place, five strokes behind the leader. El fútbol es así also eagled the seventh and now sits three under for the round.

There are two holes left before we cut one golfer. Right now cYber warriors sits below the cut lone. The bogey on seven put the warriors at seven over for the round. Dynamo Salem flubbed the tee shot, and the next one, and ended up with a triple-bogey. Dynamo’s score for the back nine is six over, and in danger of missing the cut.

Dynamo Salem has been flubbing tee shots because he
spends his evenings stalking Klinsmann and looking
for a clean shot.

You were right David, I just had to mention something about
Klinsmann using the Gold Cup to make tests to Matt during our
round through the back holes yesterday, for he to get all enraged
and starting to break irons and hitting the ball like a mad man in all
directions, like he was playing baseball. Thanks for the tip!

One more hole remains on the front nine. After next week, one golfer will be sent packing. Damn Dirty Apes placed his approach shot deep into the kitty litter in front of the green on the par four eighth hole and struggled to get out. After a few flubs he landed in the cup with a double bogey, sending DDA below the cut line at eight over par. Plattsburgh United also registered a double-bogey to sink to seven over par. Cyber warriors climbed out of last place with an even par but still sits at seven over. It’s likely that after next week, one of these three will be gone.

Mohawks continues with the hot club. His approach shot rolled into the cup for an eagle. Mohawks is now eleven strokes under and leads by five over FC Byrd Turgler, who managed only a par. SDFC Macross also parred the hole and remains in third place. The top scorer for the hole and the double-eagle went to Cánicas AC. His double-eagle lifted him to even par for the round.

Are there any pro golfers on the tour with
Mohawks? Just seems a little incongruent to me.

The front nine is in the books. One team failed to make the cut, and will not join the others on the back nine. Damn Dirty Apes needed to make up a point to avoid the cut but managed only a par. Cyber warriors flirted with the bottom spot but registered an impressive eagle on the par four ninth hole to stay in group.

At the top of the board, Mohawks scored below par again with a birdie to remain in the number one spot at twelve stroked under. FC Byrd Turgler played the hole nicely with a par, but now sits six strokes behind in second place.

For comparison to last year’s historic tournament, FC Chunkers was 13 under at the turn, but only four strokes ahead of Laws.

Dynamo Salem gave us the best shot of the day, a straight hole-in-one from the tee. DS flirted with the cut line through the eighth hole, but the three-under score gave DS some breathing room. Real New Britski registered the other eagle and is making a run at the leaders, moving to three under for the round.

Everyone grab a beverage, but be quick about it. The back nine starts this week.

OK, I had kept silent until now (you know I am not one for
complaining), but after this week's result, I cannot stand it anymore
and must voice my complaint: Holes. The grass has at least a hole in
each one of the 18 lanes. I have been doing my best to avoid them,
but I am accidentally losing a lot of balls into those holes. I noticed
and appreciate how the organization has been signaling them with
flags (flags that somebody has also been removing), but I think that
by this time you could have made an effort to fill them.

Poor organization.
