The penultimate hole failed to produce an outright champion, but barring an epic collapse, it looks like Mohawks is in line to take home the green jacket. He seemed to put it away when his monster drive on the short par four landed just shy of the green. A chip and a put led to a birdie and a four stroke lead over Real New Britski, who managed only a par. The Shaolin Mystigods birdied the hole to stay five strokes behind Mohawks, but have only a mathematical chance. FC Byrd Turgler and Top Shelf are also technically in the running.

The hot hand of the week was Arrows, who caught the wind with his drive and rode it all the way into the cup for a double-eagle. It moved him to one under for the round, but not much else.

Plattsburgh United tried to build on his eagle from the last hole to make a final charge up the table, but he sliced his drive badly and landed with a plop far into the lake on the right. He managed only a triple-bogey and ended up pretty much right where he left off two holes ago.

It should be noted that our last place golfer, Port City Navigators, is ten over for the round, but played even par on the front nine.

We will take a break on MFLS week 32 and conclude the tournament on MFLS week 33.

So I am forced to hope that Todd plays BWP, Kamara
and Castillo in Week 34 and they all get red cards,
while I get hat tricks from Rowe, Espindola and
someone else.

See ya at the 19th hole. Winner is buying.

Swap Kamara with Keane and that's probably my starting
three forwards!

I may have hit the bar a little too hard at the turn.

What's funny is that my performance mimics my actual golf
game, but with higher scores.

Please join me in congratulating Mohawks as the 2015 Masters champion. This is the first time that Mohawks will wear the green jacket, shooting to the lead on the front nine and coasting on the back nine. Finishing four strokes behind was second place Real New Britski. Three golfers tied for third at five strokes back.

I want to thank everyone for participating this year.

Thanks for running it, Dan! Glad I was able to hang on and pull
off the win despite the average back nine.

Ditto. I'm kind of curious what the history of movers are on the back 9 given the diminished transfer count and groupthink among the top players.

Which is to say, I hope I can martial my transfers better next year. For the record, I was the first one to use the 'Arena' transfer strategy this year. Although that means I got zero for my slush, it means I got to have Pareja as my manager for an historic year for FC Dallas. Good luck on their players though- they spread it around. 6 different players with 5 goals or more.

I'm happy that everyone enjoyed this year's tournament. Over the winter I will try to update the site with more depth of statistics.

http://www.brewcityfa.org/index.php/other-competitions/the-masters/

However, I also believe this will be the last year I will run the Masters. It is a "closed" tournament that now only attracts a little more than two dozen players. It goes on for eighteen weeks, which is really long and a lot of work. After just a few weeks, there are only a half-dozen or so teams that legitimately have a shot at the title. In the end, it's a lot of work for a long tournament without a lot of suspension. I think it should be retired, but if someone wants to take it on next year, I'll be happy to participate in the transition, and of course, to play.

I wanted to put that time into a Division vs. Division tournament. I see a gap there and think it would be fun. I floated around some ideas for formats in a separate thread.

Thanks, again, to everyone who participated.

Thanks for continuing it from the original ...

Hopefully someone picks it up, I like that managers have to have qualifications to sign up. There's already a million for everybody competitions and the difference between this and those is that mostly everyone follows along with this and for the others, people sign up during signups then never check again then are surprised to find out they won or lost months after the fact.
