Sounds like Espindola's knee isn't coming along as hoped and he won't be ready to play in Philly

ugh, that's two forwards of mine who may not see the field this week

At least our logo hasn't had problems this year, so that's a
positive.

Not so much. The big question is, will American
Pharoah have trouble with the rail at Pimlico?

Earlier this week I was reading a story about the TFC fans that said "(can't be repeated here)" to a TV reporter and I commented in the comment section (since deleted):

"TFC plays in a league where it's literally harder to miss the playoffs than to make them, yet in eight years they have never made the playoffs. Not counting this years two 'expansion' teams they are the only team in MLS history to never have made the playoffs, including three defunct teams have more playoff appearances."

Toronto fans weren't happy. My bad . . .

Also, are Philly and DC really considered rivals? Honest question, I've never really seen anyone else hype that up, other than Norm the past couple years.

The proximity is there, and the all-time series is close enough to even, but I never see anything about it being a "rivalry", and especially don't see any of that from DC's side.

You need approximate parity to really have a
rivalry. From a DC perspective, Philly is still
just another opponent right now. I sincerely hope
this changes. I'd say United's rivals are RBNJ,
LAG, CMB and NER in that order.

Point taken about the all-time series being close to
even, but I cannot remember any truly pivotal
matches between PHI and DC. United's post-season
history with the four teams I mentioned is rich,
especially the Energy Drinks.

Makes sense. I like how you put that, "You need approximate parity to really have a
rivalry." ...

In High School (football, I was a QB) my town got a second HS that we started playing my Soph. year and everyone, the town and local newspapers and such tried to make it a rivalry. We blew them out all 3 years (and to date I believe my old HS has won 13 of the 16 years) and my senior year the newspaper interviewed me the week of the game and the guy interviewing me kept asking if we cared more about this "rivalry" game and if it meant more to me and I kept ignoring it and he kept pushing the rivalry angle so I said something along the lines of; "I don't think it's a rivalry. You don't have a rivalry when one team always wins. Location doesn't matter either, half our league is close to us and they're all no different to us, just the next opponent on the schedule." ...

Had a feeling this was the week NYC put it together a bit ... Chicago leads 1-0, could have 2-3 more goals already and NYC just got a red card ...
