I think that's it. He was definitely domestic earlier this season before he accepted the Guatemala callup. Kind of odd, since he was born in the US, lived his entire life here, and was an Academy player for FCD before getting signed to a pro contract. By that rationale, these players should be foreign, too:

1. Justin Meram (Iraq)
2. Rodney Wallace (Costa Rica)
3. Steven Beitashour

Unlike Mo, these guys have played in official competitions (WC qualifying, Confederation tournaments). If it's me, then none of these guys are 'Foreign' players, because they're all American citizens. If that doesn't matter, Seb Hines probably deserves an asterisk through since he's played with the England youth setup.

Also, Joevin Jones is a Trinidadian, so he needs an asterisk, too. He isn't an American citizen, and he played in the last Gold Cup for the Soca Warriors.

There shouldn't be a foreign restriction in MFLS anymore if
you ask me. Too many grey areas and the league is more
diverse all the time.

i agree with Mohawks. and if Beitashour gets an asterisk too,
then i will have 10 and have to drop 3 guys to get Keane back.

i feel like whatever players are designated at the beginning of
the year should control and there should not be changes like
what apparently happened to Moises (much like how a
defender who is misclassified as a mid is not switched
midseason). i think that is the way it has been in the past as i
recall notifying Mark that Nguyen was misclassified a couple
years ago but it was not corrected until the next season.

what say y'all?

I second that. I'm not even sure Mo had to file a switch to play for Guatemala...he may still be eligible to rep the US.

I believe the rule has always been that player designations such as position or nationality do not change once the season starts. So why would there be a change this time?

I sent a note to Mark on this matter.

It's a tough job for Mark to make these
determinations. The rule is specific:

"MLS players' foreign status for MFLS is determined
by a player's eligibility to compete for the US or
Canadian National teams."

The difficult part is how does he make that
determination? Is there a source he can use at the
start of the year to look players' status up?
