I feel like I have been run over by a truck. Or may have been Barry
instead. Did anybody take the license plate? I think I may need it for
my insurance paperwork...

The summer tournament has ended. Brew City recognizes the division champions:

Division One: Cánicas AC
Division Two: Dudley Street Hooligans
Division Three: Shaolin Mystigods

Promotion to Division One: Dudley Street Hooligans and BigGame James
Relegation to Division Two: Aviators and Dynamo Silver Spring
Promotion to Division Two: Shaolin Mystigods and Grass Pitch Please
Relegation to Division Three: C.C. United and Sasha Juniors

Division One

Three teams tied at the top of the division one table with twelve points after the last game of the summer season. The top two teams going into the final week both lost. Cánicas AC dropped a 47-29 decision to Redneck SC, which vaulted Redneck into a tie with Cánicas and Arrows SC. Arrows was blown out by Wierder Bremen 33-16. In the end, Cánicas had the superior goal difference at +3 and takes home its first ever Division One Summer title.

Phoenix TS crushed Aviators 39-18, keeping Phoenix in D1 and relegating Aviators to D2. Dynamo Silver Spring needed a win to stay in D1 but managed only a 32-32 tie with Top Shelf. DSS will also play in D2 next season.

Division Two

Dudley Street Hooligans earned a 35-35 tie against Nguyenning, and that was all it needed to secure the Division Two Summer crown. This is DSH’s first ever summer title of any division. BigGame James was shut out by C.C. United 32-0. BGJ had already clinched promotion to division one, along with DSH. The lopsided victory by C.C. United wasn’t enough to keep it in D2, and thus will be relegated to division three next season. Sasha Juniors needed a win to stay in D2 but didn’t get it, falling to Sehome Mariners 30-19. The Juniors will join United in D3. Elsewhere, it was Laws of Lalas with a 34-15 win over Appleton Aarhus.

Division Three

Shaolin Mystigods scored a 20-6 victory over Castle Hill Comets to secure the Division Three Summer title, and a promotion spot in division two. The Mystigods last won the D3 summer trophy in 2004. The last promotion spot went to the winner of Grass Pitch Please and Surreywood Rangers, and it was GPP who prevailed 4 to -3. Glorydaze ascended from the bottom of the table with a 23-1 trouncing of School of Science. Another Brek in the Wall had the week off.

We will take a one week break before starting the Championship season on MFLS week 20. I will not post any update for the next two weeks, as I will be traveling out of the country.

1) Weren't you supposed to be having a vacation instead of keeping
spoiling us by posting the division and tournament updates
mondays before dawn? Stop it and take a break!

2) Are you sure I won the summer league??? Barry basically
destroyed me in this week's matchup. I was convinced he had
passed me in the +/- to win it all.

Division One

Wierder Bremen is the last undefeated team in division one. WB blasted BigGame James19-5 for its third win of the season. Three teams are a game back at 2-1. In the battle of the cellar dwellers, Arrows SC edged Redneck SC 10-9.

The League Cup is quickly coming to a close. Three weeks remain in this prestigious Brew City tournament.

Division One

Wierder Bremen, the sole remaining undefeated team in D1 was knocked off Phoenix TX 60-56. The two are now part of a three-way tie on points for first place. The other team at the top is Top Shelf, who clobbered Canicas AC 61-31. Ouch. Arrows SC won its second in a row and is now a game back, this time over BigGame James 58-46. Redneck SC one its first edging past the Dudley Street Hooligans 49-44. Both are sitting in the relegation spots now.

Division Two

Laws Of Lalas foreclosed on the Shaolin Mystigods 55-41 to claim the top spot in D2 and the only undefeated team in the Tournament. Nguyenning got clipped by Aviators 49-45 to drop to second place, one game back. Sehome Mariners won its first match of the season, 44-39 over Appleton Aarhus. With two weeks left in the tournament it looks like we’re down to a three team race for the Cup. Wierder Bremen and Phoenix TS are tied at the top with 4-1 records. WB took down Cánicas AC 42-23, while Phoenix TS brushed aside Arrows SC 35-14. Top Shelf is a game back and still in the mix, but fell from the top spot with a 35-32 loss to Redneck SC. Dudley Street Hooligans beat up on BigGame James 32-6, sending BigGame deep into relegation territory.

Division Two

Laws of Lalas cruised past Nguyenning 40-19 to remain the tournament’s only undefeated team. Laws is almost a lock for promotion to D1 next year. Two teams are two games back in a tie for second place, looking for that last promotion spot. Dynamo Silver Spring is best among them, and beat Appleton Aarhus 29-19. The other team is Nguyenning. Grass Pitch Please sunk to 1-4 and last place after dropping a 29-24 decision to Shaolin Mystigods. Sehome Mariners got their second win of the season, 29-6 over Aviators.

Division Three

Glorydaze is at the top of the pack. Going into this week, Glorydaze was in a tie for first with Surreywood Rangers, but Glorydaze took down the Rangers 24-7. Sasha Juniors got past School of Science 24-12 to make a move into second place. C.C. United isn’t out of it yet, after a 10-6 victory over Another Brek in the Wall. Castle Hill Comets rested after its monster point haul last week.

Division One

There is only one week left in the tournament, and yet six teams still have a mathematical shot at the title. Two are tied for first place with 4-2 records. Wierder Bremen, looking for its first ever League Cup title in any division sits in the driver’s seat with the best point difference. However, WB gave back a big cushion in point difference after suffering a 47-29 defeat at the hands of the reigning champion, Arrows SC. Arrows is a game back at 3-3. Tied with WB at 4-2 is Phoenix TS, but PTS went down in flames at the hands of Dudley Street Hooligans 33-2. PTS is now at -5 in points. DSH has a 3-3 record and challenges Wierder Bremen in the final week.

Top Shelf was stunned by BigGame James, losing by a point 41-40. Top Shelf is 3-3 but has the best point difference at +48. Top Shelf, the 2012 champion, faces Phoenix TS, the 2013 champion in the final week.

Cánicas AC downed Redneck SC 37-15. Cánicas is at 3-3 but has a point difference of -55, which will make a title run next to impossible. On the flip side, Redneck and BGJ are in the relegation zone with 2-4 record, but any number of other teams could find themselves there with a loss in the final week.

Division Two

The Laws Of Lalas has punched its ticket into the first flight at the start of next year, beating Aviators 43-22. LoL has captured its first League Cup division championship in any of the three flights, and has earned its first promotion into D1. Nguyenning clipped Grass Pitch Please 53-39, and sits alone in second place, poised to make the leap to D1 with a win or tie against Appleton Aarhus next week.

Three teams are tied for third place at 3-3 and could claim the second promotion spot with a big win and a Nguyenning defeat. Shaolin Mystigods have the best chance with a nice point difference following a 45-3 trouncing of Appleton Aarhus. Sehome Mariners beat Dynamo Silver Spring 35-18. Both are at 3-3 and need a big win and some help for promotion.

Grass Pitch is at the bottom of the table at 1-5 and will likely get relegated to D3, unless it can manage a big win against undefeated LoL. The last spot looks like a fight between Aviators and Appleton.

Division Three

The battle for promotion into D2 is between three teams. Sasha Juniors beat Another Brek in the Wall 30-17 and sits at the top with a 4-1 record, but more importantly a +47 point difference. Glorydaze is coming off a bye but also has a 4-1 record with +20. Surreywood Rangers defeated C.C. United 24-18 to raise its record to 4-2, but have the disadvantage of a bye week next week and a -6 point difference. The Rangers will advance only if both of the 4-1 teams lose and give up enough points. Castle Hill Comets scored its second straight win, this time over School of Science 19-10.

Division One

The 2015 League Cup Champion is Wierder Bremen! WB secured his place in Brew City history with a dominant 33-20 win over the Dudley Street Hooligans. This is Wierder Bremen’s first ever tournament championship, and actually the first season title of any division. Congratulations, Fred!

It is interesting to note that Wierder Bremen is the sixth different team to win the tournament in the last six years.

Three teams ended the season in a tie for second place, but the best among them was Top Shelf with a +57 point difference. Top Shelf topped Phoenix TS 28-19. Last year’s champion, Arrows SC, squeaked past Canicas AC 17-16. The loss sent Canicas into the relegation zone where he will start the 2016 season in D2. Redneck SC climbed out of the basement with a big 40-15 win over BigGame James. BGJ finished at the bottom of the table, and is also relegated next year.

Division Two

Laws Of Lalas takes home the division two title, his first seasonal title of any division. Laws finished unbeaten, topping it off with a 22-17 clipping of Grass Pitch Please. Laws is promoted up to Division One, his first trip to the top flight. He is joined in D1 by Nguyenning, who finishes in second place taking a bite out of Appleton Aarhus 21-6. Appleton and GPP both finish at the bottom of the table and are relegated to D3 next season.

Shaolin Mystigods ended in third place after a 27-18 win over the Sehome Mariners. Finally, the Aviators shot down Dynamo Silver Spring 18-15.

Division Three

Three teams finished tied at the top of the table with 4-2 records, but taking home the D3 championship crown is the Sasha Juniors. The Juniors started the week with a large goal difference, and needed every bit of it. The Juniors were clobbered by CC United 21 to -1. That left the door open for Glorydaze, who were tied on points with the Juniors and needed a win or a tie against last place School of Science. They got neither. SoS beat Glorydaze 17-8, but Glorydaze still finishes in the promotion area, and will join Sasha Juniors in division two at the start of 2016. The Surreywood Rangers finished just out of reach on point difference. Elsewhere, Another Brek in the Wall stormed over the Castle Hill Comets 20-4.

The League Cup has now concluded. I hope everyone enjoyed the tournament.
