Same here Bob, originally had Shuttleworth as my starting
goalie but M'bohli is my starter now. Sticking to my prediction
that he will be one of the surprises this season, already looking
good with a clean sheet at home and a strong showing vs RSL

Arena said he was pleased with LA's play. He didn't
seem upset with Rowe. Blamed the second goal on
Dunivant. Penedo will be gone to Panama after next
week's game so I would think he'll stick with Rowe.
It's hard to tell with Arena and keepers. Even back
when he was with DC he was fickle.

Bob, I was thinking the same thing while watching the NYC-NE
game: how is it possible that a team coached by Jay Heaps, of all
people, play such an awful defense?

However, I think there may be two things compounding it: (1) A
lot of the trouble came when the defense was pushing forward
and the defensive mids were not deep enough. I think that a lot
of those problems will go away when Nuyen is completely
healthy and they take better care of the ball, as I think the whole
thing is about the help from the midfielders. They would talk
about Alston losing his position, but he never had a mid coming
to cover his back when NYC were attacking. And (2), a huge part
of the merit may go to NYC. I really liked how they pressed in
midfield, with both Villa and Nemec being the first line of
defense and dropping back to help the pressure when needed.

Dunno, from what I have seen these two games, I think NYC will
not be the typical expansion team. They may even beat what
Seattle did their first season. Also liked Orlando the other day,
and they have won this week, which means that they may also be
a solid team already. However, from what I saw the other day I
think they may become one of those that do better away than
home. Good pressing defense and quick transition, but based on
defending pretty deep. Kind of a really old fashioned British
style. Not the best system at home, when you need to carry the
weight of the game, but pretty hard system to play against away.

I would probably add Saunders before Shuttleworth, at least in the near future, especially with Colorado next week. It is on the road though.

As far as todays game goes, I think the size of the pitch had something to do with the Revolution's defensive woes. Having a huge target man like Nemic is crucial on a small field. I didn't realize how well Villa could play in tight spaces either.

NYC will be tough at home this year due to that home field advantage. Also if they continue to play the way they did today, the crowds will come back and that will also help.

Good point, Bob. I liked Nemec's positioning and play with his back
to the goal, even if he was a bit clumsy with the ball a couple of
times. Classic tall forward. You are right, those are very useful in
small fields. Particularly when playing long balls.

Regarding Villa, the people who does not follow La Liga may be a
bit surprised with his skills. He is a scorer, but he can play as a very
technical wing mid. Really good both in the assist and moving the
defense.

Thanks to Villa I went from -5 to 4 for the week, still a lousy

Also pulled the trigger for Aristiguieta, playing the hot hand (or
hot foot in this case) at home this week. Should be a great
match vs Dallas on Friday, definitely going to PPL to watch it.

I went through the box scores and found one error that I just reported.

Chicago-Vancouver
Vancouver goal by Raúl Octavio Rivero, not Sam Adekugbe
