Move Porter up to 6. Yesterday's game was a real
stinker and one the Timbers could have won if they
could pass better. |

Marc, from what I have seen insofar, Portland may be the team
displaying the poorest play for the potential of their roster. And
with no team playing really wonderfully this early in the season,
that is saying a lot. Really disappointing. |

Portland looked awful. Orlando was getting great penetration
from their wingers ... |

Dallas and Portland both looked like they didn't want to play this week. Both lost and home and looked... Lethargic is the only word that comes to mind.
Which team was it that offered refunds after a really dismal performance a couple of years back. I thought is was Dallas but I'm not sure. |

I suppose I must take part of the blame. The Timbers have never won when I was at the game...wait, wait, that's not true, they have never not lost when I was at the game. I'm like their mascot for losing.
If you thought while watching the game on TV the passing looked lackadaisical, the wing service was poor, if you saw players pointlessly dribble into traffic, and poor finishing...Seeing it live was worse. |

I saw the Dallas match also. Everyone was saying how they
had got lucky the first few matches. Everyone was also
correct. Fortunately, I only have their cheaper players on my
roster ... |

OK here is an update:
Portland, Caleb Porter 6- really hard to watch those Portland games
Chicago, Frank Yallop 5- I still can't get a feel for them. How many games have the played 2?
Here is an update...Ratings 1 completely safe to 10, the villain pushes the button, the floor of the elevator falls out and the coach slides into the shark pool- sharks with fricken lasers on their heads.
NYRB, Jesse Marsh 4- The Red Bulls are doing well, if we get to page 298 of the plan and it says fire the coach, well then adios.
Toronto, Greg Vanney 9- Hey look, the whole thing is imploding in Toronto, who would have guessed.
Montreal, Frank Klopas 8- the CCL probably saved him so far but zero wins so far in MLS and there is always that Supato is nuts.
Philly, Jim Curtin, 9- Crazy incompetent GM, giving up late goals like that is the point of the game, from 3 starting keepers to a guy no one had heard of, things are not getting better.
Colorado, Pablo Maestroaenni's Mustache, 9.9- The mustache was suspended and the assistant mustache wins, Pablo's mustache returns and the team loses, hmmmmm. Not good, even hotter.
All ratings are completely subjective. |

Here is an update...Ratings 1 completely safe to 10, the villain pushes the button, the floor of the elevator falls out and the coach slides into the shark pool- filled with ill mannered mutant trout.
Portland, Caleb Porter 7- It is obvious that only Valeri can save Porter’s job. Up one from 6, it is obvious there is no home field advantage in Portland. Everyone loves to play there, and tie or beat the Timbers
Chicago, Frank Yallop 5- I still can't get a feel for them. Same.
NYRB, Jesse Marsh 4- The Red Bulls are doing well, if we get to page 298 of the plan and it says fire the coach, well then, adios. Same
Toronto, Greg Vanney 9- Hey look, the whole thing is imploding in Toronto, who would have guessed. It has been a long series of road games, so pretty soon, Toronto will learn if Govinco can win at home. Same.
Montreal, Frank Klopas 8- Losing the CCL championship and there is always that Supato is nuts. Same.
Philly, Jim Curtin, 9.9- the whole thing has just fallen apart. The could stink worse if they started a week old dead cow in goal. The way things are going with their keepers… Up .9.
Colorado, Pablo Maestroaenni's Mustache, 9- A few ties, hmm, can the mustache turn it around? Moving from horrible like a AMC Family to horrible like a Scifi channel movie. Down .9.
All ratings are completely subjective.

Ill mannered mutant trout!
That is worth a team nickname at the very least.
Imagine what you could do with the mascots! |

I think Curtin is a good guy and it's not his fault the
management is a bunch of assholes, but I think his curtain call
is soon |

After last night, I think Owen Coyle is debuting at 5.
The Houston ownership does not strike me as one to make many coaching changes in general. But 2-4-4 is not a safe record to stand on.
Jason Kreis, NYFC, 3. Bad record so far, but City has put a lot of time into Kreis and they are still missing a DP, so that will probably buy his the entire season.
Jeff Cassar, Salt Lake, 5. We knew they were not going to look like the old Salt Lake. Problem is they look like first three years of Salt Lake currently. |
