MFLS week 4 is Matchday 2 in the AAPL.

There are four MLS teams with byes in MFLS week 2 and 3, therefore the reason for the byes these two weeks. This should also give everyone time to get their squad in form before league play resumes.

MFLS Week 2 is also the second round of the MFLS Open Cup. We still have 11 AAPL teams alive - most out of any division - so be sure to check for bye weeks this week.

That is, everyone except Tim's Hounds FC squad. You should just ignore your lineup for this week!

My Hanscom City squad faces Hounds FC in one of two all AAPL games. The other being Dynamo Salem vs. FC Bayern Tampa. We are guaranteed at least 2 spots in the final 16...

Oof! Another middling performance.

I must...resist...the urge...to chase points! (he mumbles having already made seven transfers after the first week)

Just a friendly reminder ...

MFLS week 4 is Matchday 2 in the AAPL. Everyone has had two weeks to get their squad together after opening day. Now, we get to see if your squad can gel together.

Capital League

*Match of the week*
Seattle SC at Dynamo Salem - Dynamo Salem are top of the table after Matchday 1, but Seattle are even points and only behind on goal differential. The winner of this one will be taking the early lead in the division. To say the stakes are high is an understatement.

KC Frostbite at Causmos - The bottom two sides in the division face off in this one with big goal differential to correct. Who will be the one still on the bottom and who will get their season on track?

All the other Capital League matches follow the same theme - a week 1 winner vs a week 1 loser. Needless to say the pressure is on the losers, you don't want to fall two games off the pace this early.

Colonial League

*Match of the week*
Hampton Strikers at Tennessee FC - Tennessee FC are top of the table after Matchday 1, while Hampton are even on points (behind only on goal differential). We get to see who is for real this week with the winner staying undefeated and the loser playing catchup.

Mizzo FC at Gamblers FC - Another big match with two undefeated sides looking to continue their early season form and continue on the road to promotion. Who will it be?

On the other end of the table we have:
FC Orlando 98 at Newport FC
Flatbush SC at Redbull Empire FC

Two matches with the losers going bottom and the winners putting themselves in the mix.

Everyone else is a winner vs a loser. It should be interesting.

Too bad it wasn't week 3, I don't know how many table topping weeks I'll get this year. BTW, thank you Red Bulls for not completely sucking at exactly the right time!

Three more transfers burned and I am ready for Matchday 2. In reality, the moves were made to make up some points and move back nearer the top of MFLS. I know 5th overall is good, but I believe my club can do better.

You really made the moves because you saw FC Bayern gaining on you. : )

And then this week, a bunch of players out playing internationals, and just about every team on my roster is visiting. Bottoms up, this is going to be rough.

I lay the full weight of blame for my league loss this week on the MLSsoccer.com injury report. I had three people not play at all and they are still not listed on the injury report. I guess the official MLS website is just as reliable as ever.

Matchday 2 is in the books!

Capital League

*Match of the week*
Seattle SC were victorious over Dynamo Salem 14-4 and moved to the top of the table. However, Seattle has been in this position before and we all know how the story ends.

Blackburn Rovers continued the misery for Carnival FC defeating them 21-13 to move into second place in the table. Carnival on the other hand will be looking for answers as they move into the bottom three.

Surprise package VFLs Huskers continued their hot start moving into third by knocking off Lowbrow Wanderers SC 15-11. The result also sent the Wanderers into the bottom three, a place they are not used to.

Causmos got a big 23-10 win over KC Frostbite to climb out of the bottom three and get their season on track. Frostbite, however, are on the bottom of the table and will be desperate to turn things around.

And thus begins my long tragic slide down the rankings.
