Groups C and H are both groups of
death. Both have a team average rank
in AAPL of 10. Only group D comes
close. So Tim, we both have our work
cut out for us.
I love how Seattle and Carnival
always get grouped together in every
competition that uses a random draw.
It defies all odds. : )

Always! It's great though. Look forward to another classic with Carnival.

No other competition that I've put more effort into (made moves specifically to try to win) and all I have to show for it is two losses in the AAPL Open Cup final . . . Hopefully this is the year!

The first round of the Open Cup is in the books and the results are on the website. There were a number of shock results. I will post a preview after round 2 as everyone is still in it at this point.

The lowest scoring team in group C
put up 35 points in round 1. The two
teams that lost scored 35 and 40
points. That's why C is the group of
death.

Kamara on the bench Martins starting. That is what cost me the week there.

Group A

All four sides are still alive. Mizzo control their own destiny and will top the group with a point.

Stanton Park and Orlando need a win and a little help to go through. Losses by both sides would mean a three way tie for second and point differential would be the decider for them and Causmos. So Causmos has to win big and hope.

Group B

Redbull Empire are through and will top the group with a draw.

Tennessee FC will top the group with a win, and advance with a draw.

Huskers will advance with a win and a Tennessee loss, if they make up the goal differential.

Blackburn Rovers are playing for pride, but will still put up a fight.
