MFLS week 5 is Matchday 3 in the AAPL.

It is starting to get real now. It is time to start getting results if you want to stay in contention.

Capital League

VFL Huskers at Seattle SC - Two undefeated sides will fight for the right to stay at the top. Is VFLs Huskers ready for the big time? Or is this finally the year for Seattle? This is a big match for both sides.

Colonial League

*Match of the week*

FC Bayern Tampa at Las Vegas Childish Gambinos - Two undefeated sides doing battle to stay undefeated. Bayern will be looking to teach the Gambinos a lesson or two and stay in the top three, but the new boys believe they are up to the task and will be looking to take the big boys down. Who will be left standing?

Gamblers FC at Hampton Strikers - Two more undefeated sides battling to stay at the top. Hampton have started strong and will be looking to make it three in a row, but Gamblers see this as their chance to challenge for promotion. Who will take the next step forward?

I have to give a shout out to Bayern Tampa and Portland Red Tide. It is great to see two historic clubs becoming powers again. I would say they are the two favorites for promotion to the Capital League this year.

There are three promotion spots and it is early though. So anything could happen.

Thanks Tim. Low Expectations has to win the Open Cup for AAPL this year, but still alive in Mugs and welcomed Las Vegas to the Big Leagues this weekend in Colonial : )

My goodness--I couldn't even give Ed a hard time today at work. A win when scoring -1 just feels dirty. But, all the same--I'll take the 3 pts!

Definitely made some changes--I'm blowing through my transfers like never before. Feels like a bad long term strategy.

Capital League - Recap

*Match of the week*

VFL Huskers at Seattle SC - Huskers showed they are for real as they gave Seattle SC their first loss of the season. The win moves Huskers into first and makes them the only undefeated team left in the Capital League.

They are followed by Low Expectations and Seattle SC who are both three points off the pace (along with seven other sides).

On the other end of the table, the bottom three remained unchanged as Lowbrow Wanderers, Carnival FC, and KC Frostbite are all still searching for their first points of the season. I am sure they are all desperate to turn things around.

Portland Red Tide keep rolling along and remain undefeated, but dropped into second in the table on goal differential.

Nice win Huskers.

As I well know, you can go an entire season and only have one loss and still manage to not win the league. So this is disappointing to get a loss this early.
